Hero Rebirth

Last Updated: 12/03/13

Hero Rebirth

Effective 12/3/13, AOWE introduced hero rebirth which replaced the synthesize feature. As a result, heroes can now be reincarnated into super heroes with higher growth rates and a new special skill by consuming other "material" heroes with the same name. A side effect of this new feature may be the relative weakening of special heroes as common special 4-star and normal 5-star heroes are reincarnated various times to match them. Nonetheless, those willing to sacrifice gold heroes in the pursuit of gold empowered perfection, may yield legendary creations.

Rebirth Quick Summary:
  • Heroes can be reincarnated an unlimited number of times.
  • After rebirth, your hero will increase in growth rate depending on the hero level and growth rate of the "material" hero being consumed.
  • Growth rate increases stop after the 3rd rebirth.
  • After rebirth your hero will gain a random Resist skill. This skill changes after every rebirth.
  • After rebirth your hero's name will gain a color (Green -> Blue -> Purple) depending on the hero's level of reincarnation.

To begin the procedure, simply click the angel icon within the hero menu highlighted below.

Select the angel icon to proceed. Starting stats: Lvl 61 Aries- 4B, 23GR
(Note: Click the images to view larger versions. When finished, click the "x" on the top right to close the larger previews)

After selecting the angel icon, the rebirth menu (shown below) will appear.  Here you can select the hero you'd like to reincarnate, which will appear in the highlighted area.

Select the hero you'd like to enhance.

Rebirth Levels
The requirements for rebirth are slightly different for each level so choose your enhanced heroes carefully.
  • Level 1 Rebirth: The reincarnated hero must be at least level 30 and the hero consumed cannot be a previously reincarnated hero (since that would make it a higher rebirth level hero).
  • Level 2 Rebirth: The reincarnated hero must be at least level 60 and the hero consumed cannot be of a higher rebirth level
  • Level 3 Rebirth: The reincarnated hero must be at least level 90 and the hero consumed cannot be of a higher rebirth level.

Note: These rules would suggest that a higher level rebirth hero can use similar leveled rebirth or lower reincarnated heroes as material. Ex: A blue hero could use a green hero as material or a green hero could use another green hero as material. I will update this guide as soon as I can confirm whether either instance or both are true.

After selecting the hero you'd like to enhance, the menu will automatically change to show all the heroes that can be used for consumption (shown below). Take note that the desired reincarnated hero will be listed first with all the potential material heroes listed below that. Choose the hero you'd like to consume (which will be placed into the "consume" section) and select the angel icon on the bottom right to begin the rebirth process. Make sure the material hero is at least level 90 to maximize the increase in growth rate (more detailed explanation below).

Choose the material hero you'd like to consume.

After selecting the material hero, click the angel icon to proceed. You'll notice the Growth rate indicator change to reflect the additional growth rate the material hero will add to the reincarnated hero.

 Hero Consumption
Choose your material hero very carefully. The resulting increase in growth rate for the enhanced hero depends on the hero level of the material hero and their growth rate. This is why it is always recommended to use level 90 or above heroes for consumption during all 3 initial phases of rebirth.
  • If the material hero is level 0-49, the enhanced hero will gain 10% of the material hero's growth rate.
  • If the material hero is level 50-89, the enhanced hero will gain 20% of the material hero's growth rate.
  • If the material hero is level 90+, the enhanced hero will gain 30% of the material hero's growth rate.
Again: Heroes of higher rebirth levels cannot be used as material for the reincarnation of heroes of lower rebirth levels. Ex) Purple Heroes cannot be used a material for blue heroes.

Also Note: During each rebirth, the enhanced hero cannot gain more than 30% (rounded down) of its own growth rate in the process. In other words, there is a max growth rate enhancement cap during each rebirth, which is highlighted next to "(Max)". In the top image shown above, the max would be an additional +6 which would require another hero of similar growth rate to achieve. The actual growth increase was +5 Gr (portrayed in the bottom image above).

After choosing your material hero and selecting the angel icon on the bottom right, the game will present you with the choice to pay gold (10, 20, 30/40 gc) to maintain your hero's level or to synthesize for free (which will reduce your hero's level down to level 1).

Choose whether to maintain your hero's level after reincarnation or to let it reset back to level 1.
If you pay the gold in order to keep your hero's level the same, your hero's attack and defense will be automatically recalculated higher according to the new growth rate. If not, it will decrease to reflect your hero's new level. All enhancements and prior abilities will be retained whether the hero's level is reset or not.

Done!
The end result: Level 1 Aries- 4B, 28 GR
There are no limits on the number of rebirths a hero can undergo, however after the 3rd rebirth, your hero's growth rate will no longer increase and its color will not change. But, the hero's randomly acquired skill will continue to change, so undergoing rebirth is a simple way to switch between the skill types if another skill is desired.

Note: after a hero has reached the 3rd phase of rebirth the material hero's level and growth rate no longer matter (since the reborn hero's gr is locked); so heroes of any level can be used as material when attempting to acquire a new skill.

 Acquired Resist Skills

After rebirth your hero will acquire a random version of one of the following resist skills. 1, 2 and 3 star Heroes can only learn the 1st tier resist skills. Normal 4 and 5 star heroes can only learn the 2nd tier resist skills. Special 4 and 5 star heroes can learn all 3 tiers of resist skills. The most powerful resist skills can only be gained through multiple rebirths.

  1. Growth rate adds to damage and attack right. Also there is a cap for damage and attack right, like youll see people with tons of gems but 10 or so levels below me in card levels and they cant beat me. So im guessing they are capped till the next level.

    1. Yes Growth rate adds to defense and attack, GR is the number of def plus the number of attack points that are gained each level up. So a higher GR will net you a higher Atk as well as higher Def once you reach lvl 400 and are capped. I am not sure if there is a cap at lower levels.

  2. When I try to rebirth two white Aries it is type:
The hero you are improving cannot be used as a material rebirth.
I try version 2.2.20 and 2.2.19. With another heroes it is good. Don't you know why it happening?

  4. . I have a robin hood lvl 123 has been rebirthed once and have another lvl 123 robin hood that I want to rebirth into the one that has already been rebirthed. It says the max rebirth growth is 21 but when I go to rebirth the hero it says it will only give me 16 growth. What is the lvl my robin hood needs to be to get the max rebirth growth

  5. Can anyone answer the above question?

  6. The second hero (Robin) must be lvl 90 and green as well to max the rebirth growth. If anyone has more questions feel free to message me @Server 122 name is Ragnar

  7. I wish I had read this before attempting a rebirth lol. At least I knew to experiment on a general with only 2 stars.

Anyway it is worth pointing out that the wording the game uses the WRONG preposition to describe the result of a free rebirth. It does not reduce the level of the hero BY 1. It reduces the level of the hero TO 1. A level 90 hero does not go down BY 1 to 89. It goes from 90 TO level 1. One little two-letter word preposition in error makes all the difference in the world.

  8. is rebirth worth it for two or three star heros? Maybe I wasted a lot of effort on getting nothing.

    1. It depends on how much effort you are willing to put into it. My best 3 star is a purple Tab with a 54 growth rate. Which is comparable to my 5 stars. But it did take a long time.

      Delete
    2. 54 growth rate? How many rebirths did that take? how is that possible if you can only rebirth 3 times to add gr?

      Delete
    3. Many many rebirths. I took a level 30 and consumed a lvl 90. Then that green got to 60 and I consumed another green that I created as before but leveled to 90. Then created two blues using that method consumed one 90. Then the last rebirth. You have to do max on each rebirth. You have to consume hero's of the same color and at least level 90. The rebirth system gr you get is based on a percentage of the gr you consume.

    4. Is there a maximum to the growth rate ??

      Delete
    5. depends on the hero, what you can gain goes off of a percentage of the consumed heros gr. So rebirthing heros with higher gr's will have larger jumps.

  9. "After rebirth your hero will acquire a random version of one of the following resist skills. 1, 2 and 3 star Heroes can only learn the 1st tier resist skills. I rebirthed a regular 4-star hero (using a lvl 90 for material) and got a 1st tier resist skill. Is the above incorrect? If I continue to rebirth her, will it improve to 2nd tier skills when she turns blue or purple maybe?

Also, had been hoping that when my 3-star purple heroes get rebirthed again, they would have a chance at getting a 2nd tier skill but this quote has me thinking otherwise. Has anyone here actually tried rebirthing a purple 3-star? Anyone else have a green 4-star with 1st tier skill?

  10. Concerning Aries. I have seen some peeps on my server with a 5 star Aries. I have re-birthed mine several times and was trying to figure out if there is a way to increase him from a four star to five star or if they were just lucky enough to get him from the Tavern.

    1. There is currently no way of increasing the star level of any hero you choose. They do some special events to increase specific heros. And there is Dracula. So I would say that they found aristocatss in the tavern. Or card drop.

    2. It should also be noted that a recent event allowed you to upgrade a skilled 4* hero into a 5* hero through collecting the necessary items from tower challenges (or buying them with gold) So, when this event is running it is possible to upgrade Aries to a 5* hero.

      Delete
    3. exactly - e.g. today there is an event called "HERO EVOLUTION" and you can make from 4* one 5* (only one hero) during the event; but nice! btw you have to buy one ingredience for 100 gold coins; another you can fight for... Brunno

  11. How do you know what the limit GR of a hero is? Or is using it as a rebirth material at 90 the cap?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The way to get the max GR each time you rebirth is for the material hero to be at least 90. Higher then 90 is fine but will not add anything additional to your GR.

      Delete
  12. I notice that the initial GR of a rebirth hero is lower than normal. Is it because i used rebirth a lvl 40 using 90? Or is that normal?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. the growth rate added to your hero will be lower using a level 40 hero rather than using a level 90 hero. is this what you meant?

      Delete
    2. I just figured out what you were talking about. sorry I have also noticed that the initial gr on rebirthed heros is to be lower. but the overall gr is correct. Why this is I have no idea some glitch. ex my rebirthed Tab is 23+31 according to the hero card, but Tab not rebirthed starts at 26 Gr. I know that this hero has always had a 54 Gr so I am not all that worried. the overall number is still accurate.

    3. Someone is askew here in global is just saw a green nick with 66 growth and in my Alliance some has has a purple tab at 75. There must be some other trick were missing. I even tried each have pair at level 100 and it still comes out the same

      Delete
    4. I dont think there is. I noticed recently that I have a non rebirthed Claire 3* with a gr of 54! 54 for a 3* hero thats crazy!. and Since rebirth is based on a percentage of the gr these random super heros will throw off the scale dramatically.

  13. Check my all and I found a virgin level 1 nick with a growth of 64, I guess I'll be check each hero at the Tavern now.

  14. Hmm how are you getting your hero's past 60 something sends like one the reach 60 it's impossible to lvl then any more.

    1. there are several versions of the game. Each one has its own leveling style. In v1 and v2 you can get to level 400 in one day if you are motivated enough. V4 you can get to 100 in a day easy. in V4.2 it takes 2 weeks to get to 40 :) it all depends on which version of the game you are playing. I have the different servers listed on the left there under "Versions of the game".

  15. So a fully rebithed hero is just a hero thats been rebithed 3 times correct? Like having a level 90 hero and rebirthing him with 3 level 1 hwrosy

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. a fully re-birthed hero is one that is purple. A perfect hero is one that has a perfect growth rate for a purple 5* this is a GR of 118.
