Age of Empire- Tower Levels

So as anyone has entered the tower knows as you go up the levels the tower gets more difficult. I have taken the time to write down the levels I have reached so far. I am also working on an average workup for each level. Not quite down yet need more data but stay tuned!

Each level has a set number of troops, currently it appears that there is a randomizer to pick how many of each troop fills this number, but the number never varies.

This is a work in progress so I will continue to update the list as I get higher in the tower. Keep in mind that I use the tower to level and at this point in time I only go high enough that I am loosing less then 10 troops at once per floor.

  2. The solutions are computer generated based on the AI formations that are faced in the tower at each level. We are using them when fighting the tower so they are also tested. We've uploaded them hoping that also other people who like this game will benefit from them, especially new players.

  3. Tried your layout for lvl 52, it wasn't the same layout as lvl 2 as depicted in the link. Lost abt 300 infantries.

    2. 4. The formation layout is repeating once every 20 levels – level 1 is the same (ONLY IN LAYOUT, NOT IN TROOP SIZE) as level 21, level 2 is the same as level 22 and so on.

      So 52mod20 = 12 -> level 52 ~= level 12

  4. Lvl 52 is supposed to be lvl 12 in the layout not 2. It resets on lvl 21, 41, 61, and so fourth.

  5. But I will add, that though they have the correct formations for the enemies, the formations they use for the attacking side isn't the best on certain levels. In some cases they use double 1s when instead they should use two attackers, a 1, and a max infantry on every level to completely eliminate all the damage the attacking heros would take. As long as each hero can 1 hit kill, you should only receive minimal damage on the 1 and some on the infantry but never any damage on the max attackers. But nonetheless their guide is the best available publicly. If you've never noticed the repeating formations, that guide will save you a ton of troops in the tower.

    1. on some levels you get into trouble cause the heroes have special abilities like multiple hits in line... I'm not sure if this is what your are referring to. Please point out one such level that causes problems for you, we will check it and see if we need to modify the algorithm that generates the solutions - might be that in some cases the criterion that we consider valid when selecting the optimal solution is not the best one.

  6. Formations will repeat over every 20 floors, except with larger army as you go up in tower. So far I've made it to level 80 and i can say that you must be able to kill 146 catapults at lvl 20, 583 at lvl 40, 1282 at 60, and lvl 80 holds a whooping 2502 catapults.

    1. Thanks for this. I knew it increases about 30% between the previous level (19,39,59) when stepping up to 20,40,and 60. But having an exact number makes preparing much easier. I'm on level 60 but was scared to do it since my "D" = max Infantry is likely too weak. This confirms it, 1100 infantry on a "B" simply isn't enough to take 1300 cats on a "S", I need about 1600. To answer your question, I was referring to the levels where you place two 1s, a max Infantry ("D") and a Max "O" = Max Cats. Technically on all levels only two heroes are hit if you make the formation correctly: the 1 and the D; So you can replace one of the 1s with an "O" making your formation stronger, and it'll never get hit. Also some of your formations cost two 1s instead of 1 + a hit on the "D". Again if you simply replace one of the 1s with another "O" you can create a formation that's stronger and produces just 1 death to the "1" instead of two, a small hit to the "D" and zero damage for either Os. The only advantage to your formation is a reduced emphasis on the "O" so you only need half as many cats to have similar strength but you lose a few extra 1s over time and the formation is much weaker; so a failure at a higher level will spell instant death. On some levels the formations I use are fundamentally different than yours and I think they are more efficient in terms of troop loss and relatively even triple hero strengthening (though admittedly, less efficient in terms of level advancement and dual hero strengthening, since 3 heroes are strengthened at once instead of 2).       Thank you for the interest you've shown to our little page.
      What you are saying is basically correct:
      1. with DOO1 formation you loose 1 less unit per attack (which is not much but it is something).
      2. with a DOO1 formation you can have more attacks with O than with D and O has greater damage.
      3. we did use the version with DO11 as default and DOO1 as backup (when the first one would not work) as we were focused on leveling 2 heroes.
      4. since this is a popular demand, we will add another page with formation with DOO1 as default.

  7. Hi guys please checked on magic tower 9-10 the boss over there is unbeatble im try all diffrent strategies but fail the dmg of the boss with catapul is way to high espically with the super skill he uses

    1. Yes it is difficult but it is possible. And yes the catapults get you everytime. The small military buffs do wonders though. Take a day hoarding your resources until you have a full supply of food use your military buffs and run the next few tower levels. Thats the best strategy i have found for the higher levels. There are also weapons that you can use to help combat this. Hercules bow does extra damage to catapults as well as the headless knight spear.
