A Letter to Developers of Age of Warring Empire

As a player of Age of Warring Empire for nearly three years. I have noticed that cheating is rampant. All players have noticed that cheating is rampant. Players quickly lose interest and are not willing to invest in a game where players can just add what they like to their accounts freely.

one glaringly obvious source of cheating was the tower bug. Where players could collect tower rewards as many times as they pleased. This allowed for many players to gain a permanent advantage over other players that was never corrected. Many player who abused this bug were caught and their gems reduced. Many as well did not have their accounts checked. And still have many level 100 gems that they never earned.

I have ran the calculations using the best case scenario where a player is able to have 12 lvl 9 strongholds for a full two years. (v4)Two years being the approximate time that gems have been released. Using this scenario and gaining a gem on every hit in the first gem slot search (the most cost effective ideally) a player who has been doing this method for a full 2 years spending all their copper coins on gem searches and getting a 1 star gem every 240 search would be able to have no more than 7 level 100 6* gems. This would account for every scrap of exp gained from gem searches.

Now I know there is a margin of error, but taking into consideration that every gem search does not produce a gem. This will offset the difference. 4 level 100 6* gems is a much more reasonable number.

To buy enough exp to make 7 level 100 6* gems you would need to 3,945 Experience gems which would be most effective. That would cost 390,539 GC. The equivalent of $20,307 USD.

What I propose is this, create a function to check accounts, flag all accounts that have more than 4 lvl 100 gems. Cross check those accounts for gc spent and cc obtained. Then investigate those accounts that are left over. If they are found in violation then reduce their gems to acceptable levels. Again these calculations are based on a server being open for two years. HOw long a server has been open will affect these estimations greatly.

You are losing money daily because you do not seem to care about cheating in the game. Cheaters brag about cheating and getting away with it. You lose paying players everytime this happens.

  1. I have people in my server who never spent money on gold coins and now in the last month an alliance on my server theyre people are some how getting thousands of gold coins for heros and events they never participated in before. Many people know they're cheating but having a hard time proving it. It sucks because the ones who once spent money on the game to win events stopped now because they know they cant win against cheaters.

  2. I agree with this entirely, however there are still more issues that I have. For example, I found out about the tower bug but never abused it. I did tell some free players I knew who were struggling to keep up with the (most likely illegal) gold buyers. One such friend used it very lightly, relative to others, and only managed a single level 80 gem before they botched the glitch and were unable to perform it further. This caused the devs to flag their account, and every 5* gem they had was reset to level 1. An otherwise free player with completely ruined gems. I know there should be some form of punishment for bug abuse, but I have confirmation from GM Sir Charles that the devs have known the existence of the bug 6 months prior to its patch. Meanwhile, I know players with level 100 6* gem sets because any item not directly obtainable from the tower was left alone. From the bug, to the patch, to the bans, to the item removal or in most cases non-item removal, it was handled poorly in every respect. It seems like the stronger players walked free and ahead and weaker players were crushed.

    1. The most common factor seems to be that those that evolved their gems to 6* were not detected. Which is why I based my calculations on the 6* gems.

    2. Fair enough. Also any gems 1*, 2*, 3* were also left untouched.

  3. But what about the cheap gold coins? It is a cheating too for they are buying coins, lots of coins using less $$

    1. Yes using illicit means to obtain cheaper gold from "hackers" for significantly cheaper prices is cheating. Devs don't really stop people from doing that as far as I know. I have yet to see a single ban for hacked gold buying.

  4. There are many people using gold hacks. There are guys in my server that have completed tower already, have fully rebirthed 6* heroes and are stupidly strong. Untouchable by honest players. Hence a new server nearly dead.

  5. Dear Rachel,
I spent much of the game.
But unfortunately I can understand the cheaters as well.
    Prices are insane.
I am happy to pay, but € 100, 3 piece forging stone ... pff EUR 10 yes, but 100
EUR 100 and nothing has improved the hero.
So it's not available in the shop for many people.
Due to the game developers go bankrupt.
Needless to look for the problem elsewhere.
I normally pay, and often they take the event prizes, the cheaters.
Therefore, I did not already spend more, but very little.

  6. Same with A138. Top players call out others for cheating but don't get touched themselves. Zuzu, soo and masse

  7. Is it possible to level a gem more efficiently by leveling up small gems first then sympathizing with higher quality 5* or 6* gems ? or does it work out the same if you just pour a ton of little gems into those higher quality ones. Pardon my tangent, but I always wondered if there was a right or wrong way to level a gem. And yes, I hope they work out how to balance those manipulated accounts back to where they were pre bug exploitation. Keep us posted.

  9. Fitzner when I told u that its not possible to have 20-25 level 80+ gems u told me its possible with all the cc that particular player is getting so why raise this thing again?

    1. Level 100 is pretty different from level 80, although I seriously doubt that it is possible with cc alone. After about a year I have managed to get all my gems to about level 30-40, but that includes maxing almost all the techs and about half way done the new techs. Each tech costs about 4.1m cc to max.
