Equipment Jan 2014

Equipment is a necessary part of the game. First level equipment can be found as boss rewards in lower levels of the tower. Equipment can be leveled up with Spirit stones which are found in chests in the tower. Medals can be leveled up with Honor spirit stones which are found in the arena. This guide still needs a lot of work but this is what I have so far for equipment available. If you have information on additional equipment I would be more then happy to add it to this guide. There is obviously some information missing I would love help filling in the gaps.

base statistics have been listed here as well as what you gain by leveling up. You don't really loose anything by leveling up the base weapons. when you upgrade your base weapons to the next color they will not start back at one but at an "equivalent" level to the stats that your current piece of equipment has. Example a lv11 Short bow has similar statistics as a lv 4 Long bow. So when you upgrade to the longbow you will start at lv 4 rather then lv 1.

The troops- Dec 2013

Troops can be trained in the Barracks, the level of the barracks determines how many soldiers you can have at a time. There are four types of soldiers: Infantry, Cavalry, Archers and Catapults. Each type of Soldier has it's own unique  characteristics. These are laid out very nicely in a table in the barracks information (little i in top left corner).

  • Catapult's attack will increase by 20% when attacking a city.
  • Infantry will do extra damage to Archers
  • Cavalry will do extra damage to Infantry
  • Archers will do extra damage to Cavalry
  • The "load" is how much each soldier can carry back from a raid
  • speed determines the marching time
  • Crop cost determines how much food each soldier eats per hour at rest in town
  • Crop cost while marching determines how much each soldier eats while marching.

So as you can see Catapults have by far the most life when fully enhanced, but Archers have the highest attack And Infantry have the highest defense.

Arena- Dec 2013

The Arena is a wonderful thing for beginner players. You do not have to worry about loosing anything. Your arena troops do not die, or at least have a 100% regeneration rate. Troops that you have in the arena can also be used elsewhere so you do not have to worry about tying up resources.

In addition to being a valuable learning resource for how combat works in Age of warring Empire. You will also receive a reward for each attempt or success in the arena.

Lower levels for arena rewards are:
lose: 1k each resource plus 2 Honor Spirit Stones which are used to upgrade your equipment
Win: 1k each resource plus 6 honor Spirit Stones
There is also a small chance to gain random items such as: Medals or medal fragments

Every 72 hours there is a gift granted based on your rank in the arena
the lowest ranks get 2 medal fragments and 500 Copper coins
I am not sure at what rank this changes but will keep this updated

Completing the area all 15 times will also get you 15 points towards the daily bonuses.

V4 (new server)
 Rewards for winning:
12 Honor spirit stones
700 Spirit stones

Rewards for loosing:
4 Honor spirit stones
350 Spirit stones

Rank Rewards
Greater then 701 6 medal fragments and 500 Copper coins

In V4 it doesn't seem to matter how many troops you have in your barracks. Each hero you pick can be assigned one troop type. So you may only have one hero with Infantry and one with Archers ect. Each hero will then be given the max number of troops they can direct. The arena in V4 seems to be more about who has the best heros and strategy. Rather then who has the most troops.

Blitz Members

Welcome this page is dedicated to Blitz members on the 125 server. We are striving to be one of the top alliances. To do that we need much more prestige. Upgrading your buildings used to gain you a lot of prestige but doesn't any longer. Upgrading my City hall to lvl 10 got me 56 prestige. Worthless. So I am making this page to help us all out.

  1. Alliances are ranked by prestige to gain prestige you can
    1. Upgrade your buildings (very minimal amount of prestige)
    2. Go through the tower, each boss has more and more prestige to offer. Do a tower run every hour is possible. Even if it says you have no stamina left give it a go there is a glitch where it doesn't show until you attack.
    3. Fighting other cities, attacking with no loss of troops will get you 1 prestige per attack, attacking with troop losses will get you much more prestige.
  2. Donate, Try to donate at least 1 gold coin a week. With around 80 members that adds up quickly and doesn't cut into peoples "savings" to much. donating resources is a different statistic. We have to have gold coins donated to be able to level up.
    1. Leveling up the alliance benefits us all. There is alliance wide technologies that we can research. That help us out just as personal technologies help out. In addition to the technology there is also the welfare, lottery and Medic. The Medic will help you a lot and the more donations we get the more we can make this office help.
      1. When using the Medical office round down to the nearest hundred troop to replenish. In this way you maximize your efficiency.
    2. Anyone can see in the research hall what we need to be able to level up.
  3. Requesting assistance: If you are going to request assistance you need to have defensive troops on your wall already or else we cannot help you.
    1. Once your request for aide has been sent out we get a message, if we try to accept the message we can then contribute gold or copper coins to assist you. This will result in a percent increase of the troops you are using to defend yourself. If you don't have any troops defending yourself then we cannot increase. 5% of 0 is still 0 :)
  4. Try to access the alliance chat at least once a day that way we can all get to know each other. And most in there can answer any questions you might have
  5. There is a lot of information on this blog some completely out dated and some still valid poke around for ideas on how to keep up in the game.
  6. I am always looking for new research suggestions please let me know if you have a particular question.

The 2 Hero attack system

The two hero attack strategy is more defensive then the three hero attack strategy. It is all about minimizing troops loss. The basics are you have 2 offensive generals and 2 defensive generals. For the sake of continuity I will use the same descriptions as listed in the 3 hero system guide.

Grid is always laid out in attack order, the attacker(left) always gets to go first.

741     147
852 vs 258
963     369

X= empty space
1=Sacrificial troops (using 3 troops in the tower is as effective as using 1 just have to refresh troops less often)
O= Offensive General, will take No damage in the formation
D= Defensive general will take all the damage in the formation
G= Opposing General

I will cover the three most versatile formations I have using this system. But mostly its just paying attention and knowing how the system works.

L- Formation (kill enemy generals from bottom up)

1XX        XGX
1XX  Vs  GGX
XOD       XGX

In this example the G in position 6 will be killed first, then followed by 2,5,4, the troops in location 4 will most likely attack your D, Positions 2 and 4 will kill your sacrificial troops. Thus as long as your O and D can kill all opposing generals in one hit each you will only loose 2 troops per battle.

I have found the L-Formation to be the most versatile of my go to formations. It is weak against any opposing formation with three generals on the bottom row:
XXX
XGX
GGG

Z-Formation (kill enemy generals from top down)
XOD
11X
XXX

When the troops you are against need to be killed from the top down this is the best formation to use. This formation is more limited since the attack order is kill in front then work your way up. And this puts your main force at the top which is a higher risk.

"T"- Formation (when the top and bottom need to be killed first)
XXD
11X

XXO
There are several formations in the tower that this is useful for. This formation does however have the most limitations. One notable one is when against this formation:
GXX
XGG
GXX

When facing the above troop formation the T formation will be the least useful even though it looks like the best fit. There is a G in the 1 and 3 position, so once you kill the 1 then you will be hit by the 3.

Those are my three main formations, but I do use others depending on how the troops are situated. There are many things to consider:
  1. How can I position my troops to take the least damage
    1. Take out the general with the most troops first, second or third. Since the last general they have left is usually the only one who will hit your main force. You want that general to have as few troops as possible.
    2. Remember that Infantry does extra damage to Archers, Cavalry does more to Infantry, and Archers do more to Cavalry. So if all generals have the same number of troops you want to take out your D's weakness first to minimize damage.
    3. Pay attention to attack order, it is usually you go they go you go they go, however there are times when this is not the case. Where you will get several turns in a row or they will. This seems to be random.
    4. Can I kill my intended target in one hit? Or would I be better off attacking a target with fewer troops?
  2. Consider enhancing your troops
    1. Enhancements can be found in the barracks, even enhancing your troops to lv 1 greatly increases their effectiveness.
    2. There is a detailed list of how the enhancements effects each troop type in the enhancements section if you click on the troop type icon (example: click infantry guy picture).
  3. Make sure your equipment is all equipped and up to date.
  4. Check the tavern often for new recruits
    1. Try to get all Heros with the same legion 5% isn't much of a bonus but it is certainly better then 0%
    2. Pay attention to the Letter levels, try to get at least C level or higher one for each troop type. S is the best but harder to come by. A and B would be superb but C will do for the time being.
  5. If you find that you are loosing more and more troops each battle, try leaving the tower and coming back. There is a glitch where the level number changes but you do not get any benefits of being a higher level until you re-enter the tower.
  6. After Each tower run update your arena line up. Even if you cannot challenge again today it will help you keep your position so you do not fall further behind.

New Tower system

I have heard a lot of chatter about unhappiness with the new tower. I myself think it rather odd that Heros no longer will have enough experience to level up and have enough troops to make it to the next stage. They did increase the training by ALOT but it is not enough to offset the difference even with a lvl 11 hero going through the new training 3 times as well as making it through tower levels, 5.5, 5.8, 5.9 and 5.10 he has gained level 13. So that is 4 advanced stages of the tower that barely phased the hero. I believe I can safety say that new players just starting in tower with all Lv 1 heros will not be lv 100 by stage 20. So yes I agree that the new system is impractical. And I am sure many of you agree with me. If you do agree with me please contact the developers and let them know, we have been notified that not enough complaints have been registered for a change to take place.

I urge everyone to do this at least once, if nothing else leave a comment here. Perhaps I can use this page as a petition for developers.

Tower-Forest Valley-Frozen Earth-Fiery Mountain

Forest valley is the easiest level in the tower as it is the first one. Forest valley is broken up into 10 sub-levels and each sub-level is broken up into individual battles. Each sub-level has it's own boss battle I will put up averages as well as the boss stats for each sub-level. If there is not a special move listed next to a boss it is because they do not have an attack bonus to worry about.

The experience that is listed is my averages using a 2 hero offensive method. Your experience per battle can be calculated by the method I have mentioned once previously, 1-99 enemy troops =1exp, 100-199 enemy troops =2 exp ect. This is the base exp to get the final exp you then have to add your permant troop losses (the ones that didn't regenerate) to that number. Example, you kill 234 enemy troops, but loose 2 troops, you would have 5 exp.

I am working on a guide to use the 2 Hero offensive system of attacking. There is already a wonderful guide listed for the 3 hero offensive system Here: Tower Strategy/ Combat Strategy.
